Herpetoculture

My love of lizards has been part of me for as long as I can remember.  Spending hour upon hour searching the hills of western Colorado,  I was always catching indigenous lizards, including fence lizards, whiptails, and of course, collared lizards. Like many, I owned iguanas, anoles and box turtles at various points in time, but my true investment in herpetoculture did not come along until 1995, when I purchased an Egyption Uromastyx.  From there, veiled chameleons and bearded dragons soon followed.  I hatched my first veiled chameleons during the winter of 1996.  I purchased my first leopard geckos from the classified pages in Reptiles Magazine.  At that time, "high yellow", "jungle", and "bold stripe" were essentially the hot morphs in the hobby.  With ease of care and such "renter friendly" requirements, I have remained hooked on this family of reptiles for 3 decades.  I began to seriously breed leopard geckos in 2010, and have worked for several years to build a professional, sustainable practice.  With 3 young children and a professional career, it has become critical to balance the hobby with other priorities, and that is the essence of CKG Geckos.  I want to remove the drama and misinformation of the social media age, and just focus on the fun of the hobby.  And hopefully pass along some high quality, beatutiful and unique creations along the way...
